Do you ever thought how astronauts eat food in space ? Before humans landed on the moon, NASA conducted a great deal of research on suitable foods for space flight; freeze - dried ice cream was one result.  Whirlpool Corporation had created it  as commissioned by NASA . But if it isn't cold, smooth, and creamy, can it really be ice cream? Unlike other freeze-dried foods. astronauts eat ice cream without added water; it 's crumbly and dry.

The invention made it to space only.Space foods are in plastic containers. Foods such as fruits,bread and nuts can be eaten just as they are. Eating in space can be tricky ,requiring care and coordination.
